Ian Kahkonen Earns Eagle, Praised For Being Mentor

Scoutmaster Chuck Johnson awards Ian Kahkonen his Eagle Rank as his parents look on.

One of Troop 185's most active scouts was awarded his Eagle Rank Saturday, June 8th in the Dublin Community Church Chapel.

Speakers praised Ian for his quiet leadership.  Mr. Johnson said he was a terrific role model for younger boys.  Many scouts praised Ian for his work in the troop.

Ian chose former Scoutmaster Bob Richardson as the recipient of his mentor pin, saying "Uncle Bob" was a great help keeping him on track as he worked toward the Eagle rank.

On hand were members of Ian's family as well as members of Sea Scouts and the Venture crew in which Ian is very active.
