Wildcat Hollow Backpack

November 5-6, a small but hearty contingent went on a backpack trip to Wildcat Hollow.  Saturday was a long, hilly hike of ~11 miles.  Beat another troop to a great camping spot on top of a hill, then hiked out 3 miles the next morning.  Weather was beautiful, and the guys stuck together and did a great job!

Rail-Trail Campout- October 21-23

The troop traveled to Cuyahoga Valley National Park to ride the train and bike the trail, all while working on Railroading and Cycling merit badges.  We also got to visit the Canal Exploration Center.

Fall 2016 Cooking Dead Camporee

October 7-9, 2016 we attended the Cooking Dead Camporee at Camp Lazarus.  Cooking competition, Paintball target shooting and perfect camping weather.  We also welcomed Webeloes from Pack 200 and Pack 229 to join us!

HFP Fall Triathlon Campout, September 24-25

Had fun canoeing on Deer Creek Lake Saturday afternoon, then worked the HFP Fall Challenge Triathlon on Sunday to help raise money for the troop.  Beautiful weather and a good time!

Sunday, September 18- Fall Court of Honor

Sunday, September 18 brought our Fall Court of Honor.  The scouts were honored for there rank advancements and many merit badges earned during summer camp!

Mohican State Park Canoe and Hike Campout

September 9-11 Troop 185 camped in the group campground at Mohican State Park.  Saturday morning was spent canoeing on a nearby lake, and afternoon brought a 5 mile hike...then the rain hit.

We got a little wet, but everyone survived!

2016 Northern Tier High Adventure

June 18-26, 2016
Sixteen participants (2 crews of 8) went on a high adventure trip to Northern Tier in Minnesota for a week of backcountry canoeing and camping.  Great fun was had by all!  Look for additional pictures in the Troop 185 photos link at right.  Voyageurs!

2016 Spring HFP Triathlon

A small contingent of the troop played board games during Saturday's rain and 20 people showed up Sunday morning to help work the triathlon at Deer Creek State Park to earn money for troop activities.

May 2016 Zipline Campout

May 2016 campout was at Blue Rock State Park.  Activities included canoeing, fishing and ziplining at The Wilds!

April 2016 Shooting Campout

April 15-17 brought our shooting campout.  Great weather, rifles and shotgun.  A few too many ticks, but I think we all had a great time.  Check in the photo album for more pictures.

Tar Hollow camp and North Loop of Logan Trail backpack

April 1-3, 2016.  Camping and backpacking at Tar Hollow State Park/Forest.  Very windy and pretty cold, but a good time had by all.

Annual IRON CHEF Cook-Off

This weekend  (Jan 29-31) 

Scouts test their culinary and digestive skills this weekend at the Troop 185 annual Iron Chef Cook-Off at Falling Rock Scout Camp.

Scout patrols will each prepare their own "unique" recipe of chili to see which is best.

Bring your mess kit, bring your woollies, bring your beans, bring your Alka-Seltzer and get ready for a great time that would make your mother cringe.
