Camping and Activities

Play Hard. Serve Hard.

We camp. A Lot.

We try to plan an activity once a month, which can be weekend camping, hiking, field trips, etc. We spend a week at summer camp every July (7 days, 6 nights), and we try to schedule a High Adventure activity on a regular basis for older Scouts (age 14 and First Class rank).  In 2012 and 2016, Troop 185 sent 16 boys and adult leaders to the Northern Tier High Adventure camp in the boundary waters of Minnesota.  In 2014, we sent two crews to Philmont Scout Ranch and have one crew going in 2017.

Scouts and leaders follow the BSA Guide to Safe Scouting -  Read it Here :

Serving our community

Community service is a mission of Troop 185.  In the past we have participated in food drives for the Dublin Food Pantry and  CERT drills for Central Ohio emergency personnel.

Helping Ourselves

Our primary fundraisers are popcorn sales,  Christmas greenery sales and working at Central Ohio triathalons. These fundraisers give Troop 185 the resources it needs to keep dues low and fund activities and equipment purchases.  A portion of all fundraising goes into each boy's scout account which he can use to help pay for summer camp.
